The leading roles are played primarily by Huhtamaki, the largest producer of disposable tableware and packages worldwide (its clientele includes McDonald's, Pepsi and Nestle), as well as “Master Cap” (“Diapason” Plant), “Inteco,” “Artplast” and “Misteria.” As soon as the revised customs duties became effective in late 90s (currently the share of duties and taxes in tableware price is as high as 70%) and due to the recession, the export from Europe has almost come to ought. It has maintained at a significant level only in a narrow premium segment. However, according to experts, Russian manufacturers are currently keeping control over 94% of the overall market. The Russian market of disposable tableware showed an active growth in 1993-94, and from 2000-2005 the annual growth rate ranged within 20-25%. In 2009, the market stabilized, but in 2010 the market has again demonstrated some growth and its rate may achieve about 6%..”.
