Currently, the immunization protecting against infections caused by Pneumococcus is not included in the mandatory list of vaccines of the National Immunization Schedule and such vaccines are administered for charge. However, according to the Federal Law dated 21.12.2013 # 368-FZ “On Revising Article 9 of the Federal Law “On Immunoprophylaxis of Infectious Diseases,” vaccines against Pneumococcus infections should be included in the mandatory list of vaccines of the National Immunization Schedule, beginning January 01, 2014.
Based on the results of 2013, according to Rosstat, in the RF territory the number of children of no less than one year of age was around 1.8 mln. During the research period the target age group increased approximately by 0.1 mln as a result of the birth rate growth. Thus, Abercade analysts assume that the demand for vaccines protecting against infections caused by Pneumococcus will be 5.4 mln doses provided that triple immunization is used for the children who reached one year of age.
