Company Abercade presents a survey of the Russian market of vaccines used in the prevention of tick- borne encephalitis for the period of 2005-2013 and the market forecast up to 2018.
The report includes:
- 24 pages
- 10 tables
- 8 diagrams
According to Abercade analysts, as of 2013, the size of the Russian market of vaccines used for preventive immunization against tick-borne encephalitis increased by 1.2 mln doses vs. 2005 (+30% by 2013). The retrospective analysis has demonstrated that the market situation was unstable.
Thus, over the period of 2005-2009 some positive trends were observed for the volumes of supply of preventive vaccines for tick- borne encephalitis, but in 2010 and 2011 there was a tendency to reduction in supplies, as reported in the survey. The decline in market volumes in 2010 and 2011 was caused by the drop both in import shipments and domestic production output.
In 2010 and 2011 some lots of the domestically produced vaccine “EnceVir” were recalled due to the more frequent post-vaccination complications, primarily among children. It was decided to use vaccine “EnceVir” only for immunizing the adult population, and this decision influenced the final size of the market of vaccines protecting against tick-borne encephalitis.
